The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government program to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices like a laptop or tablet. Households are generally eligible if the household income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line or if someone in the household receives other benefits like SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, WIC, etc. The program will pay up to $30/month for internet service and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer. The Area 1 Agency on Aging at Action for Eastern Montana is offering home modification grants to enable seniors to remain in their homes through home modifications that reduce the risk of falling, improve general safety, increase accessibility and improve functional abilities. Home modifications examples include:

  • Widening doorways
  • Improving lighting
  • Installing grab bars
  • Installing a walk-in shower
  • Lowering kitchen counters/cabinets
  • General repairs to enable seniors to remain at home (leaky pipes, accessibility issues, etc.)

This grant has a lifetime limit of $1500 per person. The application can be obtained in the link below:
