The library works in partnership with a worldwide organization, Better World Books. All Items not added to our collection are sent to their main sorting facility. The library receives a percentage of the profits for any materials that can be sold through their online book store. Other materials are distributed worldwide to areas in great need. Any remaining books are recycled. Upon request, the library can provide a receipt for tax purposes.
Non-resident cards are issued to those who live in the region, but outside Richland County. The cost is $10/year for individuals/couples and $15/year for families.
All offices of Richland County are open 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday, with the exception of the following Holidays:

Vehicle registration, and license plates are obtained through The Richland County Treasurer’s Office. The Treasurer’s office is located on the second floor of the old courthouse at 201 W. Main St, in Sidney. Title work cannot be completed after 4:45PM, so if you’re attempting to transfer a title please arrive prior to that time.
Certified copies of your Montana birth certificate can be obtained at the Clerk & Recorder’s office. The Clerk & Recorder’s office is located on the third floor of the old courthouse, at 201 W. Main St, in Sidney.
The cost of each certified copy is $8.00 payable by check or cash only. Please bring photo ID with you.
You can apply for your passport at the Clerk of District Court’s Office. Their office is located on the second floor of the Law and Justice Center at 300 12th Ave NW, in Sidney. For additional details, please call (406) 433-1709.
