For Children and Their Families

We are committed to being a fun, educational, imaginative, and safe place for children and their families to learn and develop a love of reading together.

Our childrens area has matching games, alphabet sorters, chunky puzzles, stuffed animals and other toys for you to play with together.

We have Launch Pads with age-appropriate educational games and books.

We also hope that you'll join us at some of our special events and programs! Classes and activities are offered when space and staff are available. Some programs that we have offered include the following. Please contact the library for a specific calendar of events.

Tales4Tots.pngTerrific Toddler Tales (ages 0-3)

Terrific Toddler Tales is designed for families with babies and toddlers. We know reading can be a wonderful shared activity, but don't let all that fun fool you…they are learning lots! Babies and toddlers are beginning to build those important communication skills (listening, vocabulary & memory). New concepts in numbers, colors, letters and shapes will also be introduced.

ReadandPlay.pngStory Time (ages 4-5)

Although all ages are welcome, the focus of this story time is primarily kindergarten readiness. Storytime lasts about 45 minutes and includes songs, fingerplays, stories and a craft, all designed around the day's theme.

FamilyScienceNight.pngFamily Science Nights

Children and their families discover the joy of invention and the thrill of discovery.  We provide all the necessary supplies for the project and allow families the opportunity to interact and explore science in a really fun and exciting way.

Reading Readiness Tubs

Did you know that the library offers travelling tubs to promote early literacy? These tubs are available to local preschools, daycares, or even those running small childcare services in their homes. We fill the tub with a selection of items according to your needs including DVDs, audio books and songs, board books, and other children's books. We also have early education backpacks. If you have questions or are interested, please contact the library.
