The Richland County Health Department received accreditation status from the Public Health Accreditation Board in November of 2018. Richland County is one of only seven counties in Montana to become accredited, and is the smallest county in Montana, and one of the smallest counties in the United States to achieve this status. All of our staff are actively involved in the processes to support accreditation.
In 2011, public health accreditation became voluntary for state, local and tribal health departments. The accreditation process includes a thorough and rigorous review of the Health Department's plans and processes that ensure that we address the Ten Essential Services of public health and meet the needs of those in Richland County.
The Richland County Health Department is committed to developing a culture of quality and cultivating individual and community involvement. We seek to accomplish this in all aspects of our health, safety and wellness by empowering people to capitalize on available resources to achieve the highest quality of life.
